Who We Are

Riverside Church of Christ is a local, independent congregation of Christians, believers who have been baptized by immersion into Christ for the remission of sins. We are committed to living by faith in Christ. We welcome visitors to any of our services.

Public Worship
We follow the New Testament pattern of church worship. We come together on the first day of the week, Sunday, to partake of the Lord’s Supper, and to sing, pray, teach, and give of our means. You will notice in our worship assemblies that our music is “acappella.” This means we sing without the accompaniment of musical instruments. We hope you find our praise and worship to be beautiful and uplifting. Our assemblies are conducted in accordance with John 4:24. We meet on Sunday evening and Wednesday nights for additional study periods.

Teaching Program
Our lessons are from the Holy Bible, God’s authoritative word. We respect it as the ultimate authority. We believe in teaching messages from the gospel of Jesus Christ. They are prepared with our souls depending on a well-balanced teaching program. The Purpose, Mission, and Goals of our education program can be found on this website.

Our History
In September 2006 twenty-five people began meeting as a church at an elementary school in Kerrville and established the Riverside Church of Christ. The first service was held on September 3, 2006.

In March 2007 property located on Harper Road was graciously deeded to the church. Construction began on a building that contains a 400 seat auditorium, classrooms, and other rooms.  The property is located on Harper Road in Kerrville.

June 2007 saw the arrival of minister Al Horne and wife Donna.

September 2008 was the date of the groundbreaking for the new building at 625 Harper Road.

Our first Sunday in the new building was September 13, 2009!

Meanwhile, the congregation has grown to more than 200 members. Riverside Church of Christ continues to serve our community through local evangelism, meeting needs of members and others, and sharing God’s love with those around us. We invite you to visit with us at 625 Harper Road.
