Bible School Program
Purpose, Mission, and Goal

We believe the Bible, God’s Word, provides the best answers to life’s important issues. The Riverside Church of Christ is committed to a Bible-centered educational program for all ages. We firmly believe that the ethical instruction of the gospel of Jesus Christ will aid and counsel us as we face the challenging issues of our world. This church is Biblically-based and Christ-centered.

Jeremiah 31:34: “‘No longer will a man teach his neighbor, or a man his brother, saying, ‘Know the Lord,’ because they will all know me, from the least of them to the greatest,’ declares the Lord.”

Our Purpose:
To provide Christian education opportunities to members and others of all ages.

Our Mission:
To prepare minds for God’s work and to make the New Testament plan of salvation available to all. Colossians 1:28: “We proclaim him, admonishing and teaching everyone with all wisdom, so that we may present everyone perfect in Christ.”

Our Goal:
For everyone to grow to a deeper knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

In order to achieve this we should:

  • Teach that the Bible, which is the inspired and inerrant word of God, is our complete authority in faith and practice.
  • Teach all classes using Biblical texts and principles.
  • Develop lessons that instill an understanding of Biblical truth and principles.
  • Impress upon all the fact that the Bible presents only nondenominational Christianity.
  • Encourage our young people to commit their lives to Christ and give them the foundation to continue faithfully throughout their lives. Therefore, we should assist them in developing skills that will help them to defend and communicate their faith to others.

Our children should grow to appreciate the church belonging to the Lord who purchased it with His blood.

Ensure that our instructional programs focus on Biblical principles and practical applications to daily life. Students need to be taught to discover the wonder of God’s word in the major events and people of the Bible.
